*** UPDATE *** 22/11/2020
Dear Valued Customer,
Important Message : Due to a member of staff testing positive for Covid-19 we are following UK Government Guidelines and observing Isolation policy therefore the majority of staff will be working from home where able.
This will be for approximately one week and will mean that our ability to process shipments will be significantly affected.
With this in mind we respectfully request all our valued customers to please bear with us until we have a full complement of staff back in the work place.
We apologise for any inconvenience and can assure you we are doing all possible to move as many shipments as we can.
The safety of our staff and associates is of utmost importance and we shall do all possible to provide this in accordance with UK Government guidelines.
*** UPDATE *** 30/03/2020
Dear Valued Customer,
Further to COVID-19 restrictions which were already in operation in the UK and many areas of the globe. Restrictions imposed by the UK Government effective midnight 22ND March. Amongst the Public health guidelines announced are restrictions on the type of businesses which are and a requirement that only workers providing essential services are permitted to attend work. Under these regulations the services provided by Connoisseur International Distribution (further down “CID”) including the provision of “freight transport, warehousing and support activities for transportation including cargo handling” are identified by the UK Government as essential services and frontline workers are permitted to attend their place of work.
-
Delivery Documentation
It is not be possible to supply signed PODs at all delivery points due to physical distancing concerns. Where appropriate drivers will ask the consignees name and write “on behalf of…”
We wish to advise you that in these circumstances CID will not accept liability if consignees are unable to sign for goods as would normally be the case.
-
Transit Times may increase
As businesses close, the standard delivery routes, services and transit times will not operate as normal. Restrictions on physical distancing at our warehouse operations and at consignee premises are adding complexity and putting greater pressure on teams and slowing the efficiency of operations.
Some hauliers/carriers are scaling back or suspending delivery/collection services.
Timed deliveries cannot be guaranteed.
Where time sensitive / transit sensitive deliveries are required it may be necessary to arrange this by dedicated vehicle at additional costs.
-
Consignee premises may be closed or refuse deliveries
We would ask that our customers check that consignees are open to accept goods before consignments are collected and shipped. CID cannot operate as an efficient and essential service provider if we ship goods which cannot be delivered. Connoisseur as with all transport operators, does not have unlimited capacity to hold transit cargo for an indefinite period in the UK or other worldwide partner agents. Wasted transport costs and punitive storage charges shall be applied to these goods.
-
Communications
CID shall endeavour to communicate in a speedy and professional manner but please bear with us if you are impacted by any delays in communication as many of our teams are now working from home.
-
Freight forwarding / Warehousing Operations
There may be delays with customs clearance, presenting Bills of Lading, obtaining releases, accepting goods into warehouses.
We would ask customers to bear with us as we endeavour to provide the best service possible but please be aware that Connoisseur will not be accepting any liability for quay rent / detention / demurrage charges that may accrue from shipping lines.
We thank you for your continued support during these difficult times and we would like to extend our best wishes to you, your co-workers and families at this time.
*** Further restrictions may be put in place without prior notice. ***
